About the Artist
Art, in its many forms, has been a subject of interest to Heather O'Neil for quite some time. Raised in the Midwest, Heather began her study of photography and art in her teenage years. After graduating, she spent time assisting a free-lance photographer specializing in black and white photography. In 1997, she married and moved to upstate New York. Since, she has been building her collection of work as well as clientele. Influenced by her experience with art and photography, large-scaled, monochromatic pastel work based on black and white photographs have proved the perfect combination of her interests.
The focus of Heather's work is to clearly portray the unique likeness of her subject through her own artistic expression. She seeks to assist her customers to reach the perfect balance between their ideas and the original to create the best solution, bringing their visions to life. Working from her own photography, or from photos supplied by the client, Heather's objective is to reflect her creativity and vision to create a timeless, treasured piece of art. Specializing in human portraiture, her pieces speak for themselves.
Heather also enjoys the challenge of rendering photos of inanimate subjects and still lifes into "portraits". She has successfully captured the detail of many such subjects: landscapes, architectural renderings, vintage automobiles, motorcycles, etc. Her style provides clear detail of such subjects, while giving the image a flair that elevates the work to the level of fine art.
