Description of Works

Lamppost on Notre Dame Street, Montreal -- When living in Lake George, New York, I took many trips to Montreal, Quebec. It was only a three hour drive away from home, yet felt like I should have arrived by jet. Montreal is a city with a real European feel, complete with French speaking inhabitants. My favorite area of the city is Old Montreal, with its brick streets, excellent restaurants, beautiful architecture, art galleries, and artisans working in the open square near the St. Lawrence Seaway. My reference photograph for this piece of art, Lamppost on Notre Dame Street, Montreal, was taken while I was walking around the city of Old Montreal.

Sailing Lake George -- One day while out on Lake George, the sunny day we were enjoying turned stormy. My pastel picture, Sailing Lake George, is not an exaggerated image. The photograph I took looked the same. I was provided with a perfect photographic opportunity -- while the Adirondack Mountains provided the backdrop, a sailboat moved into the beams of sunshine shining through the looming, dark storm clouds.

Vintage Motorcycle -- I'm not a typical motorcycle enthusiast. But, as I walked around Americade in Lake George Village admiring the bikes and the riders, I found the subject for this work, Vintage Motorcycle -- an old, vintage Triumph Motorcycle. The majority of the bikers at Americade ride Harley Davidsons, but the classic Triumph motorcycles caught my eye and inspired this work Vintage Motorcycle
